We are all pushed for time when it comes to dinner time and that often results to quick fixes that aren't always that good for us. So, I am going back to the basics this week to show you how I stock my fridge with simple ingredients so that I am always prepared to put a homecooked meal on the table for my family...Not saying it always happens, but I am always prepared. Check out the video to see what is In My Fridge.


In order of appearance...


Seasonal berries - strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and more

Plain Yogurt ( I like greek yogurt for everyday use)

Sour Cream

Cream Cheese ( I like to use goat cheese on toast and bagels but cream cheese in recipes)

Cold Cuts

Variety of Cheeses - Cheedar, Monterey Jack, Swiss, Goat and definitely a block of Parmesean

Fresh Herbs - Rosemary, Sage, Thyme, Basil and Cilantro are constants for me

Cucumbers - any variety

Lettuce - any variety

Defrosted Meat

Milk - Cow, Almond, Coconut, Soy, Goat... I prefer the whole fat ever day milk.

Orange Juice - preferably fresh squeezed... it can be used for marinades, glazes and yummy "ice cream" treat.

Wine - For cooking and drinking... White in the fridge and red in the cabinet.

Zucchinni - My filler veggie for soups, stews and even spaghetti sauce. Gets veggies in a meal without changing the taste. 



Avocado - I eat some almost everyday!

Seasonal Fruit -  Oranges, grapefruit, apples, pears, plums, nectarines, peaches... the list is never ending. Just try to focus on what is in season and it will be delicious and can be used in so many ways.

Lemons & Limes - I use these every day for everything from marinades for meats to making buttermilk...not to mention how a fresh lemon or lime juice can brighten up a salad or fresh fruit.

Leafy Greens - Spinach, Kale, Swiss Chard, Collard Greens, Turnip Greens, Bok Choy...to many options to list.

Fresh Vegetables - Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, Cabbage, Green Beans, Asparagus and on and on.


Mustard - regular, dijon and stone ground just to name a few.

Jam & Jellies - the flavors you prefer...apricot, grape, raspberry...up to you.



Sweet Relish



Half & Half and/or Cream

Stock - Chicken, Beef and Veggie


Barbeque Sauce 

Butter! - Salted and Unsalted

Coffee - Purely for day-to-day survival



Onions - purple, yellow, sweet, white...there are so many options
